Phyllis

A  highlight of Aubrey’s year in Boston was her landlady.  She is quite colorful and a true Bostonian.  Aubrey captured many of her quirky and funny interactions over the year.  Here is one of her last anecdotes.

“Phyllis told me my father could send me anywhere and I'd be successful (do you hear that father? You can send me ANYWHERE).  She also told me girls should not be out in the street (which is why she wanted me to live with her), I'm driving the Mercedes of education, I'll meet my "prince" within a year, and that he'll be a teacher somewheres (with a suit jacket and everything), and he'll be so blown away by my intelligence and my smile that he'll marry me on the spot (terrifying). She closed by telling me that she had never seen a year go by so fast, and that she knew that even though our time together was brief, we'd remember each other for the rest of our lives.

Oh Phyllis, whatever am I going to do without you?”

Aubrey entertained her Facebook audience with these kinds of stories all year long.  I would not be surprised to see a book come from her time with Phyllis, or a sitcom.
