Barrett

I'm a Tennessee native that moved a lot and finished high school in Cincinnati, where I met Dayna.  I graduated from Ohio State in Education and English as a Second Language, studied Japanese for a couple of years, and spent two summers in Tokyo for summer mission projects.  I got my Masters in HR at Rollins College. 

I have loved playing basketball most of my life, but have slowed down in recent years.   In the last year I have started paddleboarding in the lake near our house.

As you can see below, Dayna and I have 5 children, and I love being a dad.  I'm very proud of all my kids.

Dayna

Born in Oklahoma, I moved to Cincinnati when I was four, finished all of school there, and graduated from Ohio State.  I graduated with a Bachelor's in Nursing, and worked in a hospital about six months before we joined staff. I minored in East Asian Studies and went on the same mission projects to Japan two summers during college.

I have just finished homeschooling Macy and before Covid I volunteered as a nurse at Shepherd's Hope, a clinic for those without insurance.

Our Kids

Catelin

Catelin was born in St. Paul Minnesota and moved to Orlando when she was 4 years old.  Catelin was home schooled, and graduated from Rollins College with a degree in Spanish, then her masters in HR, and now works Orlando Health in Talent Development.  She  lives nearby and we love having her so close.

Cara & Perry

Cara was also born in St. Paul and moved to Orlando when she was 2 years old.  She was also home schooled.  Perry is from Lakeland, Florida and they met at the University of Central Florida, where they got their undergraduate and masters degrees in engineering.  They live in Orange County, CA.  Perry is an assistant professor at UC Irvine, and Cara works for a Baltimore engineering firm. They have 3 boys:  Zeke, Titus and Bowen.

Aubrey

Aubrey was born in Orlando and was also home schooled. She earned her Masters in Musicology from Brandeis University.   Aubrey remotely with a Minnesota company in compensation and also lives near us in Orlando. 

Luke

Luke finished his PhD in materials science in 2022 and now works in Melbourne, Florida (about an hour away).   He is settling into is new apartment and has found an adult baseball league to play in.  We glad he moved so close to us.

Macy

Macy is a freshman at the University of Florida studying Criminology and English.   She has a good group of friends and enjoys college.  She loves being an aunt and visiting California.
